RR Kabel Limited has commenced commercial production at its newly established Unit 3 manufacturing facility for wires and cables in Silvassa, Gujarat region. Commercial operations at the new facility began on September 15, 2026, marking an expansion of the company's manufacturing capacity.
The new unit is located at Village Karad, Silvassa, in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and is situated close to R R Kabel's existing manufacturing units in the region.
New Silvassa Unit to Reach 18,000 MT Capacity
The Unit 3 facility has a total planned production capacity of 18,000 metric tonnes (MT) per annum. Commercial production has initially started with an operational capacity of 12,000 MT per annum.
The company expects the remaining capacity to be commissioned by December 2026, taking the facility to its full planned capacity of 18,000 MT per annum.
Expansion Strengthens R R Kabel's Manufacturing Footprint
The new Silvassa facility adds to R R Kabel's existing manufacturing presence in the region. Its proximity to the company's existing units is expected to support the company's manufacturing operations as the additional capacity is brought online.
The expansion is part of R R Kabel's broader capacity-building plans as the company works to increase its manufacturing capabilities for wires and cables.
₹400 Crore Silvassa Expansion Programme
The Silvassa expansion is part of a ₹400 crore capital expenditure programme. The company has also outlined a broader multi-year capital expenditure plan of approximately ₹1,200 crore to ₹1,450 crore through FY2028.
The additional manufacturing capacity is intended to support growing demand from domestic and institutional markets while strengthening the company's overall production capabilities.
Full Capacity Expected by December 2026
With commercial production already underway, R R Kabel is currently operating the new Unit 3 at 12,000 MT per annum. The company plans to complete the remaining installation and bring the facility to its full 18,000 MT annual capacity by December 2026.
The commissioning of the new unit marks another step in R R Kabel's manufacturing expansion and adds capacity to India's wires and cables manufacturing sector.
