UltraTech Cement has commissioned 4.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of additional cement capacity, strengthening its manufacturing footprint across key Indian markets. The company announced the commissioning as part of its ongoing capacity expansion and debottlenecking initiatives.
The newly commissioned capacity includes 3.6 MTPA of greenfield integrated cement capacity at Petnikota in Andhra Pradesh and 1.0 MTPA through debottlenecking at its existing cement plants in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Patratu in Jharkhand and Nathdwara in Rajasthan.
Following the commissioning, UltraTech Cement's total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity has increased to 204.7 MTPA. Including its overseas capacity of 5.4 MTPA, the company's total global cement manufacturing capacity now stands at 210.1 MTPA.

The 4.6 MTPA capacity addition comprises two major components:
The 3.6 MTPA Petnikota project represents new greenfield integrated capacity, while the remaining 1.0 MTPA has been achieved by improving capacity at existing manufacturing facilities.
UltraTech Cement's Capacity Reaches 210.1 MTPA Globally
With the latest commissioning, UltraTech Cement's domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity has reached 204.7 MTPA.
The company also has 5.4 MTPA of overseas capacity, taking its total global cement manufacturing capacity to 210.1 MTPA.
The capacity addition is expected to support the company's ability to serve growing cement demand across multiple regions while making better use of its existing manufacturing and logistics network.
Capacity Addition to Strengthen Market Presence
According to the company, the additional capacity will strengthen its presence in the southern, eastern and northern markets.

The commissioning of the Petnikota plant and debottlenecking at existing facilities therefore adds capacity across multiple regions rather than relying on a single manufacturing location.
