New Delhi: Building materials manufacturer Sakarni Plaster (India) Ltd has announced plans to invest around ₹450 crore over the next two years to expand its manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its presence in the construction materials sector. The investment will be used to establish two new plants for gypsum boards and paints while also increasing production capacities at existing facilities.
According to the company, a new gypsum board manufacturing plant will be set up in Andhra Pradesh, while a paint manufacturing facility will be developed in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh project is being planned through a joint venture with Coromandel Chemicals Ltd and will involve an investment of about ₹150 crore.
Sakarni Plaster currently operates 12 manufacturing plants, primarily located in Rajasthan, and manufactures products such as Plaster of Paris (POP), wall putty, gypsum boards, paints, tile adhesives, waterproofing solutions, and construction chemicals. The company reported a revenue of around ₹900 crore in the last financial year.
Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Gupta said the expansion will help the company meet rising demand from India's growing real estate and construction sectors. The investment will be financed through a combination of internal accruals and bank loans.
The company is also targeting broader geographic growth beyond North India, which currently contributes nearly 70% of its total turnover, as it aims to strengthen its position in the country's rapidly expanding building materials market.
