Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited (DPIL), under its DICABS brand, has received a purchase order worth approximately ₹263.25 crore, including GST, for supplying power cables and conductors for an urban power infrastructure project of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) in Maharashtra.
The company disclosed the order through a regulatory filing dated September 17, 2026. The purchase order was dated September 16, 2026, and was placed by a domestic EPC contractor executing the MSEDCL project.
Order Includes Underground Cables and Conductors
The order covers MV and LV XLPE underground power cables, overhead conductors and control cables manufactured according to MSEDCL specifications.
The project is part of an urban power distribution infrastructure programme in the Bhandup region of Maharashtra. Medium-voltage XLPE underground cables form the core of the order, while the overall scope also includes strengthening of overhead lines.
Key Details of the Order
The order will be priced on a variable basis linked to prevailing aluminium and copper prices and currency movements. Final quantities are subject to a site survey, while the delivery schedule will be finalised after approval of technical particulars and drawings by MSEDCL.
Cables to Be Manufactured at Vadodara Facility
Diamond Power Infrastructure will manufacture the cables and conductors at its integrated facility in Vadadala, Vadodara, Gujarat.
The company states that its facility has an installed capacity of 2,50,000 tonnes per annum for power cables and overhead conductors. It also has backward integration through its own aluminium rod mills and captive wind power.
Focus on Urban Underground Power Distribution
The order adds to Diamond Power Infrastructure's business in the medium-voltage cable segment. Underground cabling is increasingly used in urban distribution networks to improve reliability and reduce the impact of weather and space constraints.
The company said the order strengthens its supply capabilities across medium-voltage cables, low-voltage cables and conductors for utility projects.
Conclusion
Diamond Power Infrastructure has secured a ₹263.25 crore order for supplying power cables and conductors for an MSEDCL urban power infrastructure project in Maharashtra. The order includes MV and LV XLPE underground cables, overhead conductors and control cables, with manufacturing planned at the company's Vadodara facility.
